Women's Health

As we age on the surface (think wrinkles and grey hair) our hormones, bone density and muscular changes follow suit. Physical demands such asbearing, birthing and raising children, navigating puberty, menopause andage-related aches and pains all need to be considered for optimal health.

At Habit Health, our team of physiotherapists will be able to guide you through your childbearing years, navigating painful disorders such as endometriosis, mastitis, osteoporosis, and painful sexual intercourse. We will walk alongside you if you are going through medical treatment (of which breast, ovarian and uterine and bowel cancers are most common) and stand by you as you recover.

Pelvic organ prolapse, constipation, incontinence (bowel and bladder) and the urgency to ‘go’ are very common, yet treatment is available for you. You do not need to just put up with it. Please visit our pelvic health physiotherapy page for more information.

Many women cease or reduce physical activity due to concerns around their pelvic floor or abdominal wall. Are you active, or wish to return to your previous level of activity but certain things are holding you back? A reduction in physical activity increases the chance of developing long term health conditions (cardiovascular, diabetes etc). We are here to help,to address your concerns to get you back to where you want to be physically – whether that is picking up and playing with your grandkids, completing a long-distance running event, competing at CrossFit or returning to netball.

Urinary incontinence is no laughing matter. Talk to one of our pelvic health physiotherapists for information on our new femfit® by JUNOFEM pelvic floor training system.
