We provide personalised therapy to that focuses on improving communication and addressing speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.

How can Speech Language Therapy help?

We provide assessments, diagnoses, and individualised therapy plans. Your speech language therapy can take place at home, school, work or in a community space. Our therapists also work closely with whānau and other important people in your life to provide support. This includes using best-practice methods that are customised for your needs.

We also have access to a range of professionals, such as occupational therapists and psychologists, who can help you.

Speech Language Therapy for children can help:

  • Late talkers and children who have language delays.
  • Speech development issues such as unclear speech.
  • Children to better engage in social situations.
  • Provide alternative communication methods such as sign language or assistive devices.
  • Speech difficulties, stutters and voice disorders.
  • Children who have developmental conditions to improve their communication, for example Down Syndrome, Autism, Selective Mutism, and Cerebral Palsy.
  • Parents, teachers and learning assistants to support the child.

Our therapists are members of the New Zealand Speech Language Therapy Association (NZSTA).

Get support

We work closely with ACC, particularly in cases of traumatic brain injuries and concussions.

For ACC covered injuries you can request support from your ACC case manager and choose Habit Health as your provider. If you are unsure of what support you need you can discuss this with your ACC case manager.
