DL9 Medicals

When you are employing someone to operate heavy machinery, it is important to ascertain that their general health and eyesight meets the required standards to work from behind the wheel for long periods of time.

Our team of registered nurses can assist you in organising for each of your staff members to understand the requirements of a DL9 medical certificate, which they will need to be able to operate machinery.

Once the employee understands their rights, a registered nurse will go through a series of questions and health and eyesight checks to ensure that the client is able to meet the requirements of the DL9 medical certificate, which will, in turn, give them the ability to continue working behind the wheel.

This certificate is required by the New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA) every time an employee applies for or renews a heavy driver license. Our qualified health professionals are well versed in medical aspects in fitness to drive as laid out by the NZTA and can ensure that you do not have to worry about the health and fitness of your long haul or heavy machinery operators.

If it turns out your staff member is not able to drive, one of our occupational therapists may also be able to help.
