Living in New Zealand

What to consider

If you’re an overseas candidate not from New Zealand or Australia, please consider your eligibility to work in New Zealand with Immigration New Zealand before applying for a position with us. Immigration New Zealand is the government agency that looks after New Zealand’s immigration rules and laws. They offer a range of visas to help people visit, work, study, live or invest here.

While you do not need to go through an employment agency, we recommend that you seek professional advice from Immigration NZ or a Licensed Immigration Advisor to discuss Visa options or any Immigration related matters.

Once you have confirmed your eligibility pathway to work in New Zealand, we welcome your application!

Habit Health is an accredited employer with Immigration New Zealand

Habit Rehabilitation is an accredited employer, which enables us to support applicants with skills that we have been unable to find in New Zealand. If you meet the criteria, your visa application may be handled more swiftly following an offer of employment from Habit Health that takes advantage of our accreditation.

Please note that all offers of employment are subject to eligibility and the right to work and reside in NZ at all times. For the most relevant up to date information on applying for a visa please visit the Immigration New Zealand website.

NOTE: There are significant Employer Accreditation changes currently under way with Immigration NZ in 2022, i.e. the introduction of the Accredited Employer Working Visa (AEWV). Habit Health intend to work towards this accreditation, and we will update this as soon as possible in accordance with the application process times. We will assess each application on a case-by-case basis for those intending to apply for this visa.

Plan your travel to NZ

Border settings are still changing frequently while COVID related protocols are regularly reviewed. Before you travel to New Zealand, check entry requirements, including:

  • whether you need to go into Managed Isolation or Quarantine on arrival;
  • pre-departure testing;
  • vaccination status; and
  • New Zealand Traveler Declaration: anyone travelling to New Zealand by air must complete this prior to check-in.

Most travelers to New Zealand no longer need to enter Managed Isolation and Quarantine but we recommend you review the latest updates on New Zealand’s border requirements prior to beginning employment with us.

Qualification clearance

If you’re relocating to New Zealand from overseas, you will likely need to register your qualifications from the relevant New Zealand Professional Registration Boards and Bodies. See the list of registration boards below:
